Step 5. Develop Countermeasures (Prioritize)

List as many potential countermeasures as possible. Identify an effective countermeasure that directly addresses the root cause. Prioritise issues. Identify and make ready all tools an equipment for change in advance of the of the event.

Instructions


1. Brainstorm as many countermeasures as possible. Involve operators and supervisors on the floor if possible.      
2. Evaluate the countermeasures. There are several different ways to do this evaluation, one type of evaluation Matrix is below.
3. For the evaluation matrix below, list the criteria that are important to the project, then evaluate based on the scoring shown.
4. The countermeasure with the least number of “no good” and most number of “good” should usually be selected, based on discussion in team.

Note:

  • Once the Step 5 has been completed, you can see the reviewer popup to send request reviews to the committee members. Committee head will receive the review request.
  • By default, review requests shall be sent out to Environment, Safety and Quality owners in case of a C3 (A3) idea. You can choose to uncheck them if not required.
